Newsletter: Robots or Government? Take Your Pick

Dear Global Business Enthusiast,

Michael Michelini (@michelini) here. You’re getting this email because you requested my periodic thoughts on international business from Hong Kong.

[Edit: Actually, it’s possible that you’ve never gotten an email from me. Somebody might have just given you the link to this page, which is an online archive of an email that I sent to folks who had asked for it. If you’d like to get articles like this in your inbox, totally free, about once a week or two, give me your email address.]
This week US Elections, Robots creating universal income, Amazon Prime in China, and more

So this week, I made my first order from Amazon USA to my apartment in China! Amazon recently debuted its first ever free international shipping to prime members for Chinese members – but I had to push my wife to signup as it requires a Chinese ID card! Protein powder coming over early next week, yes!

Elon Mush: Robots will take your jobs, government will have to pay your wage

US Elections, well glad that it is over – my Facebook feed is…not really still back to normal. Wonder how long this debate between friends will go on. What does it mean for me as an American in China doing my own business? Working on a blog post now.

Next week we are doing a free webinar for Enter China on manufacturing in China, and the best way to find a factory in a sea of Alibaba – check it out here

Global From Asia News

Listen to this week’s podcast

This week’s podcast – I knew it would be a hot topic with the heated political debates – Olivier Wagner comes on to teach Americans how to renounce their US Passports. I get a bit emotional on this one…

And a blog post about – what is a profit tax return? Common question, hope to refer to this for years to come.

Hong Kong Supercharged News

Events seems to be a popular thing for Global From Asia here – we have one next week, HK businesses can do Chinese e-commerce – we are visiting Jing Dong – Friday Oct 18, check it out.

And – we picked dates for the Cross Border Summit – will be 2 days this year – Friday April 14 and Saturday April 15, mark your calendars, and it will be as always.

Feel this newsletter was a little too serious – so watch me dress up as Captain America with my family for Halloween.
