Global Sources has just cancelled their Spring Show Series. They did so to protect people from the Coronavirus.
Global Sources is a Hong Kong sourcing company. For more than 10 years, they have set up exhibitions and sourcing events for people around the world. One of their well-known events was Global Sources Electronics. It is the largest electronics sourcing show.
This coming April, Global Sources was getting ready for a string of events. However, the infectious ghost of the Coronavirus hangs horrid over everyone’s head.
The Global Sources events organizers paid heed to the existing health measures put up. They indicated the current health measures by the World Health Organization (WHO). They have the safety of all people in mind. This includes organizers, exhibitors, and visitors to upcoming events.
Apart from that, they recognize the current difficulty in travelling. These difficulties will put a strain on exhibitors and visitors.
Thus, they have decided that the current best course of action is to cancel the upcoming Global Sources 2020 Spring Show Series.

An Uneventful Season
The Global Sources events are not the only ones that have been affected by the Coronavirus. In truth, everyone is well aware of the virus scare. Everyone is heeding the WHO’s health measures.
Safety though comes at a price. It is shaping to be an uneventful season.
FIA was supposed to have their 45th BOCA International Futures Industry Conference. It was supposed to take place from March 10 to 12, but was cancelled for health reasons.
The London book fair, one of the biggest if not the biggest international literary event was also cancelled. This has left thousands of agents and authors in a standstill.
Even trade events are suffering. With events being cancelled, the opportunity to earn a profit suffers as well. Events that once sold wines, cars, and paintings among other things are fading away all over the world.
Some companies are taking interesting avenues though. In an effort to reach customers, companies have tried to leverage the power of the internet. There is an attempt to create virtual events where items can be sold and conferences and happenings can continue.
Car companies BMW and Volkswagen for example had to unveil their latest automobiles online.
While it is an interesting avenue, marketing executives and experts say that nothing can replace real human contact.
