Thailand’s health ministry says that they have found a cure for the Coronavirus.
AN HIV Cocktail
A Chinese woman afflicted with the Coronavirus found herself in Thailand. The woman was 71 years old. Fortunately for her, the Thailand health ministry had what no other country has ever had. They have a potential cure for the virus.
The administered treatment was a mixture of several drugs. It included antiviral drugs used for HIV as well as for the flu. The anti-flu drug is called oseltamivir, while the anti-HIV drugs are ritonavir and lopinavir.
Just two days after this new cure was administered, the Chinese woman no longer showed any signs of the virus.
The doctors also indicated improvement in her behavior. Prior to the cure, she was unable to even sit up from her bed. However, just half a day after the cure, she was able to sit up.
This new cure comes at a time when the world needs it most. Recently, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a global health emergency. The Coronavirus has escaped the confines of China and made its way to a number of countries.
Apart from that, the first Coronavirus death has taken place outside of China. It was a patient from the Philippines; a man aged 44-years old.
In China, the number of cases continues to rise. More than 16,000 people have contracted the Coronavirus, with the death toll soaring to almost 400 and counting.
Thailand comes in with the second most cases outside of China at 19. Japan has 20. However, the number of patients who are testing positive in Thailand has significantly decreased due to the cure. At least eight patients have been sent home, while 11 remain at the hospital.
Coronavirus Updates
It is no secret that the Coronavirus has affected the whole world. Governments are doing their best to address the virus and how it has affected not only their countries in various ways.
China has found itself in a hole due to the virus. In response, the Chinese government has pumped more than $170 billion into its own economy. The People’s Bank of China (PBOC) stated that they want to ensure a certain amount of liquidity and a stable currency market.
However, this does not help out with how China is viewed by all other countries.
For the past week up until now, governments have been trying to evacuate their nationals in Wuhan, China. The problem is that airlines have shut down in China. All flights to and from Wuhan have been shut down.
China risks global isolation due to the Coronavirus. Various countries nearby have closed off their borders to China.
Various businesses have also pulled or closed their shops in China. Chief among them is Apple. A total of 42 Apple shops have been shut down. These include corporate offices and contact centers to name a few.
Apple’s move talks strongly about the seriousness of the Coronavirus. China is the largest market of Apple.
